Where is the Port Adelaide BOATFEST held?
Our core BOATFEST event activity will occur in Port Adelaide throughout the following locations:
Hart’s Mill, Mundy Street and surrounds
Inner Harbour, Port Adelaide | between Birkenhead Bridge and Jervois Bridge
Cruickshanks Corner | Riverview Street, Birkenhead
New Port Quays
Museums in the Port (South Australian Maritime Museum, South Australian Aviation Museum, National Railway Museum)
How much does it cost?
Entry into Port Adelaide BOATFEST 2018 is FREE & family friendly.
Fees may apply to certain activities or elements within the event - for example the Museums in the Port Open Days, tickets to the SA Seafood Celebration Dinner etc. Food, beverage and market products can also be purchased throughout the event.
What can I do at Port Adelaide BOATFEST

How do I get to the event and where can I park?
Special provision for parking has been arranged for this event immediately adjacent to the South Australian Aviation Museum, 66 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide. You will be able to park here and utilise the FREE BOATFEST Shuttle Bus. Please note, there is limited street parking available for the event, so we encourage (where possible) the use of public transport, car-pooling or if you live nearby, why not ride your bike and check out the event site with ease!
FREE BOATFEST Shuttle Bus Service | a FREE shuttle bus service will be operating between the South Australian Aviation Museum, National Railway Museum, South Australian Maritime Museum and Hart’s Mill in a loop each day between 10am–4pm inclusive.
A second BOATFEST Bus will operate a loop from Hart’s Mill in Mundy Street around to New Port Quays (to view the wooden and heritage boats at berth) and across to the Birkenhead Tavern (Riverview Street) where there is more activity located at Cruickshank’s Corner and then return to Hart’s Mill. This bus loop will also operate daily from 10am–4pm inclusive.
We strongly recommend that patrons use the FREE BOATFEST Shuttle Bus service and avoid parking congestion in the Port Adelaide area itself. Limited street parking exists for the event.
Public Transport | if you’d prefer to catch public transport, Port Adelaide is easily accessible by both bus and train, with multiple stops nearby. Remember, when catching the Outer Harbour line, your journey on foot to New Port Quays to view the Wooden and Heritage Boats up close and Hart’s Mill will be shorter if you get off at the Ethelton Station. Other options could include Port Adelaide Station and/or Glanville Station too, although they are a little further away. You can plan your journey at the Adelaide Metro website.
Can I walk around the whole event site to see everything?
The BOATFEST event site has been designed so you can explore as much of the Port as possible either by foot, bicycle, shuttle bus or water taxi. CLICK HERE for a full event site map.
As noted above, a FREE shuttle bus service will be operating two loop routes to get you around the whole Festival between 10am–4pm each day.
BOATFEST Water Taxi | a unique opportunity exists during BOATFEST only to have the best view of the Port from the River! Hop aboard the water taxi from adjacent Folklore Café (Hart’s Mill) for a short tour on the Inner Harbour prior to disembarking at Edgewater Marina (New Port Quays) to allow viewing of the Wooden & Heritage Boats berthed at New Port Quays up nice and close.

Who can attend BOATFEST?
BOATFEST is for all ages and a family friendly event. Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
BOATFEST is located in and around the Port River – hence there is a lot of activity located VERY close to the wharf and water. We ask that parents and guardians take extra special care when they or their children are close to the edge of the wharf and to be mindful or their surroundings.
The Flour Shed and Mundy Street at Hart’s Mill will be a licensed area and we do ask that children are supervised by a parent or guardian in and round the bars.
Where are the toilets?
For the duration of the festival, public toilets will be located inside the Flour Shed at Hart’s Mill, behind the Hart’s Mill Marketplace and at New Port Quays.
Facilities for disabled access?
Wheel chair access is available to the majority of activities and sites within the Port Adelaide BOATFEST.
BOATFEST has reserved disability parking spaces in the carpark adjacent to Hart’s Mill. Please speak with our carpark and event staff on the day for any assistance.
Disabled toilet facilities are located in the Flour Shed at Hart’s Mill.
Is there food and drink available at the event?
YES, we will have a number of delicious food and beverage options located in Hart’s Mill throughout the Flour Shed and on Mundy Street - check out our full list of options below:
Will there ATM’s onsite OR are credit card and EFTPOS accepted?
ATM facilities are available throughout Port Adelaide. Our bars and most traders will accept EFTPOS payment.
Is there seating at the BOATFEST?
BOATFEST has limited seating in the Hart’s Mill Flour Shed and some additional lawn &/or seating areas throughout Hart’s Mill, New Port Quays and surrounds.
First Aid services?
You will find the St John’s Ambulance First Aid tent located in the Hart’s Mill Marketplace (adjacent Folklore Café). There will also be first aid personnel roaming throughout the BOATFEST site. If you need assistance, please ask any of our clearly identified BOATFEST team members or security personnel.
Lost and Found services?
If you have lost OR found a child, person or item, please speak with any of the clearly identified BOATFEST staff or security personnel or visit the BOATFEST information booth for assistance.
If you wish to report or enquire about lost and found articles after the event, please contact InFront Events | email@example.com OR 08 8362 9844. Lost property will be held by the event as a courtesy for 5 days post event.
Is smoking allowed at BOATFEST?
BOATFEST permits smoking only in outdoor areas away from food and beverage service and dining areas. We would request that you consider others and the environment if choosing to smoke and please dispose of cigarette butts carefully.
Smoking inside any of the BOATFEST venues or onboard any vessel is strictly prohibited.

Can I bring my pets?
We love all furry friends here at BOATFEST and pets are welcome onsite, however they must remain on a leash at all times and are only allowed in the outdoor areas. Please note that accredited service dogs are permitted inside BOATFEST venues.
What if the weather turns against us?
BOATFEST will remain open rain, hail or shine! In the event of an extreme weather emergency, we may need to close down some or all of the BOATFEST venues and activities. Please keep updated via our Facebook page for any extreme weather notifications.
Conditions of Entry
Entry is at your own risk. The right to refuse entry into Port Adelaide BOATFEST and any of our venues is reserved.
All persons, bags and containers may be subject to a full search at entry. Prohibited items (alcohol, glass, fireworks) will be confiscated except illegal drugs, which will be handed over to police.
Photo ID is required to purchase and consume alcohol. You must be at least 18 to consume liquor within our licenced venues.
Patrons will be evicted from the event if they are affected by alcohol or drugs or dangerous activities.
Anyone found supplying alcohol &/or drugs to minors will be evicted from the event and may face criminal charges.
Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
As attendees of Port Adelaide BOATFEST, you consent to being included in photos, sound and live audio recordings that can be used by the promoter or promoter approved media.
Port Adelaide Sailing Club and the event organisers shall not be held liable for any loss, injury or damages sustained entering or within the premises.
