After 10 years of lobbying, a wooden boat festival has finally received approval to be held in the Inner Harbour at Port Adelaide, with the Port Adelaide Sailing Club acting as host.

The Port Adelaide Wooden & Heritage Boat Festival, which will be known as BOATFEST, is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the past, present and future of the Port of Adelaide. To be held bi-annually in the off year of the Goolwa Wooden Boat Festival, it is expected that up to 150 boats will participate.

This is an exciting and much-welcomed opportunity to bring boats back to the Port of Adelaide and demonstrate all our historic and appealing harbour has to offer. Along with the on-water and on-land exhibitions and events, the festival is a celebration of community, kinship and diversity.

To be held within the historic Inner Harbour of The Port of Adelaide, this two-day festival will bring together a large and beautiful collection of boats, from stunning sail boats, large and small, rugged working boats and incredibly detailed model boats.

Along with the exhibition of these beautiful boats, the festival will feature a tantalising combination of incredible seafood, live entertainment, demonstrations and displays.

The event is hosted by the Port Adelaide Sailing Club. The Club has engaged the services of experienced event managers, In Front Events Australia Pty Ltd, to provide advice, event logistics and execution for two day program.
